The Hatchett-Morrisey Project
Claudie (CJ) Morrisey was born October 9th, 1986 in Clinton, NC. Claudie started taking piano lessons at the age of 13 from his grandmother, who always pushed and demanded excellence from him at his hometown church, Browns Chapel Baptist Church. He started to develop an ear for gospel music at an early age and eventually transitioned to learning all styles of Jazz and Classical. Claudie graduated from Fayetteville State University in 2009 with a bachelor’s in Music Performance. During his tenure at his Alma Mater, Claudie was an Accompanist for his peers recitals and also a trombonist with the Fayetteville Jazz Orchestra. During his last semester at FSU, Claudie was the first student in history at Fayetteville State University Music Department to compose and conduct an original orchestra piece, “Life of a Prodigy”, specifically for the FSU Symphonic Band during the 2009 Spring concert. After FSU, Claudie started giving piano/music theory lessons to students in the Washington, DC area while continuing to be a part of the Fayetteville Jazz Orchestra. In 2010, Claudie was the keyboardist for the tribute band,”Cameosis”, which was directly linked to the legendary funk band, ”Cameo”. Currently, Claudie continues to create and orchestrate music and is one-half of the duo, “The Hatchett-Morrisey Project”, where he is the Pianist/Music engineer for the duo which is based out of Northern Virginia.
Tony Hatchett (aka Kadesh)
Tony Hatchett has been writing songs, producing music, and working with
several professional bands and projects for many years. He has compiled a large
library of original songs that focus on love, religion, politics and controversial
social issues. Tony met CJ Morrisey in 2016. Soon thereafter, they blended
Tony’s R&B grooves with CJ’s smooth jazz keys and formed the Hatchett-Morrisey
Project……
